Electrical Engineering '19 I am a senior from Mauritius who is majoring in electrical engineering with a nanotechnology concentration. I work as a technician at the Boston University Electronic Design Facility where I am currently designing circuit boards for the Muon g-2 Electrostatic Quad Pulser Control project. I am also part of the Boston University Racing Formula SAE team. I love playing tennis, traveling and trying out new food.
While being a part of SWE, I have met a lot of amazing women in engineering who have inspired me to do better and taught many valuable life lessons. As SWE current president, my goal is help fellow women engineers achieve their full potential.
Mary Wall Vice President
Biomedical Engineering '20 Hi everyone! My name is Mary and I am a junior studying Biomedical Engineering. This is my second year on the SWE BU E-board and my first year as Vice President. I am excited to be returning to the group and look forward to helping women expand their STEM opportunities throughout the year. I think it is really important to try to help close the gender gap in engineering and being involved in SWE is a great way to work towards that goal.
Skylar Karzhevsky Secretary
Biomedical Engineering '20 Hi folks! My name is Skylar, I grew up in Rockland County, New York, I am a junior studying Biomedical Engineering, and I hope to graduate with a concentration in nanotechnology. This will be my third year in SWE, and my first year on the E-Board. I look forward to working with women and girls at BU and in our community to feel empowered to pursue opportunities in engineering and science!
I am currently interning at Tufts Medical Center in the Mother Infant Research Institute researching methods to prevent pre-term birth through tissue engineering. When I'm not in the lab or in class, you can also find me playing bass with the BU Pep Band and in one of BU's many incredible jazz ensembles, learning to cook, and working with Boston's activist communities.
Tu Uyen Vo Treasurer
Mechanical Engineering '21 Hi! I’m Tu Uyen. That’s my first name. I’m a sophomore majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but I might switch to Computer Engineering. I like to procrastinate on assignments in my free time. Besides procrastinating, I also like to code and read novels. I joined SWE because I liked the community of women engineers built by SWE, and I wanted to contribute to empowering women in STEM.
